area rug cleaning faqs
We want to provide the best service to our customers for both dry cleaning and area rug cleaning. The following are some bullet points to give some additional information about what to expect from us.
We recommend annual cleaning of any high traffic area rug. Biannual cleaning is recommended for lower traffic rugs. We will follow up each year to make sure we do our part to ensure a long life for your area rugs.
Our detergents are Green and completely environmentally friendly.
As with our dry cleaning service, we cannot guarantee total stain removal. This is largely dependent on the elements. For example the nature of the stain, the length of time the stain has sat in the fabric, and what methods you have tried to remove the stain at home.
Our process includes an initial high powered vacuum to remove as much of the surface dust and dirt as possible. The rug is then cleaned using a spray and extract with a detergent designed specifically for area rugs. After that, we brush the rug to remove any loose dirt and we hang them to dry. If the rug has not been routinely vacuumed, or has not been cleaned on normal basis, some ground in dirt may not have been extracted during cleaning.
Pet stains – Vomit & Urine are tricky, and there is science to describe why. As urine and vomit age they become more alkaline. The alkalinity attacks the point at which a rug dye molecule attaches to the wool fiber. The first time water hits that spot, the dye comes loose and the spot looks like is has been bleached. This is why any valuable area rug should be brought to us immediately after an incident.
